A recent client sent us some video tapes that sat in a shed for years and suffers from mold after being exposed to a damp location while stored. The mold has penetrated and bound the tape together resulting in sticky tape syndrome.
These tapes require a lengthy Restoration process to unbind the tape by a slow baking process and then cleaning to remove the mold. At this point it would be determined if the tapes would require Real-time motion compensation video archive processing to correct artifacts which cleans up, fixes and stabilizes video deterioration.
Once that process is complete we can then convert them to a digital file format for viewing and editing.
If you come across moldy tapes, do not place them in your VCR. Contact us for an estimate on Restoring your tapes.
